Logo NisParticipation of a group In the training seminar in Aheloy, which is part of the PTA project, a group of 10 people from the University of Nis attended. The name of the seminar is – Раrаntreрreneurshiр ideаs generаtоr.

The seminar aimed to test and implement the PTA module as explained.

 

Milestones in the history of the University

1948. – Foundation of Teacher Training College, forerunner of today’s Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš, the first higher education institution south of Belgrade. Academic 1949/50 the first generation of students enrolled.

1954. – Within Teacher Training College a Department of Physical Education was founded in academic 1954/55 (2-year studies)

1971. – By the governmental decree of the Republic of Serbia the Faculty of Philosophy was founded as a member of the University of Niš, with the Department of Physical Education as its constituent unit.

1999. – By the governmental decree of the Republic of Serbia the Faculty of Physical Education was founded as a new member of the University of Niš.

2006. – By the decree of the University Senate in Niš, the Faculty of Physical Education changed its name to the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education

2007. – From the academic year 2007/08 Faculty of Sport and Physical Education adopted the Bologna Process and runs its undergraduate and postgraduate studies and programs degrees accordingly.

Faculty of Sport and Physical Education

Since its establishment, the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Niš has issued diplomas in various study programs to approximately 3000 students.  Around 100 doctoral dissertations were defended. Senior coach’s certificates were issued to around 1300 students. They have completed their studies within the Center for the Development of Staff in Sport and Recreation.

The faculty of Sport and Physical Education has accredited the following study programs:

1. Undergraduate studies, physical education, and sport;

2. Bachelor of applied studies, sport; Graduate Specialised Professional Studies, sport.

3. Master’s degree studies, in physical education, and sport;

4. Master’s degree studies in physical education, physical activity, and health

5. Doctoral degree studies, sports science.

The Faculty employs 49 teaching and associate staff. The Faculty employs 25 non-teaching employees in different sectors: General and Legal Affairs sector, Education and Student Affairs sector, Material and Financial Affairs sector, Library and IT sector.
